Frequently asked questions

Straight answers about GoldAlert's prices, signals, charts and alerts.

Is GoldAlert financial advice?

No. GoldAlert is an educational market-data and research tool. It does not know your finances, objectives or risk tolerance and does not provide personalized financial, legal or tax advice.

What triggers 50% BUY / WATCH?

The label appears after 3–4 consecutive lower daily closes, subject to any minimum-decline filter you select. It means the rule reached its first stage; it is not a 50% probability and not an instruction to invest half of your money.

What triggers 100% BUY / STRONG?

The label appears after 5 or more consecutive lower daily closes. It is the strongest stage of the published rule, not a guarantee that price will rebound and not a certainty that an asset should be bought.

Are all prices real time?

TradingView charts may be real time or exchange-delayed depending on the instrument and exchange. The Signal Board uses scheduled daily closes and normally updates after the relevant market session. Each displayed daily close includes a date so visitors can judge freshness.

What happens when a data source fails?

GoldAlert should show that data is temporarily unavailable or retain the latest dated daily close. It does not intentionally create substitute prices, statistics, predictions or signals. Always verify executable prices with a broker, exchange or bullion dealer.

Where does the data come from?

Interactive charts are embedded from TradingView. Scheduled closes for metals, mining shares and ETFs are obtained from Yahoo Finance; supported cryptoasset history is obtained from CoinGecko. See the Methodology for calculation details and limitations.

How are the ratios calculated?

Cross-asset ratios divide aligned closing prices sharing a common calendar date. This avoids combining values from different sessions. Ratio cards are context tools, not forecasts.

Can alerts work while the page is closed?

Email or Telegram alerts can work while the page is closed when the notification backend is connected. Browser alerts depend on browser and device permission and may require the site or installed web app to remain available.

Does past backtest performance predict future returns?

No. Backtests summarize historical observations, which can be affected by sample size, market regime and data availability. Past outcomes do not guarantee future performance.
