How to set a gold price alert (browser, email and Telegram)
Watching a gold chart all day isn't practical. Here's how to let GoldAlert do it for you — three different ways, depending on how you want to be notified.
Why "consecutive red days" instead of a fixed price target?
Most price alert tools let you set a number — "tell me when gold hits $3,800" — which is useful if you have a specific entry level in mind. GoldAlert does something different: it flags when gold (or silver, miners, ETFs, or gold-backed crypto) has been falling for a set number of trading days in a row. Three straight red days triggers a WATCH signal; five or more triggers STRONG. The idea is that a sustained pullback tells you more about shifting momentum than a single-day price level does.
Both approaches are complementary. GoldAlert offers the streak-based signal plus a simple price-target alert, so you can use either or both.
Option 1: Browser push notification (instant, no sign-up)
The fastest way. Open goldalert.org on your phone or desktop, scroll to the "Enable Buy Signal Notifications" section, and tap the browser notification button. Your browser will ask permission — allow it, and you'll get a push notification the moment any asset you're tracking hits the signal rule you've set.
This works while the browser tab is open or running in the background on most phones. If you close the browser entirely, the notification won't fire — for that, use option 2 or 3.
Option 2: Email alert
Scroll to the same section and enter your email address. Choose which category of assets you want covered (metals only, miners, ETFs, crypto, or all of them), then tap Subscribe. You'll get an email whenever an asset in your chosen category changes tier — for example, moves from HOLD to 50% BUY/WATCH.
This works even when your browser is closed. Alerts go to the address you enter, so use one you actually check.
Option 3: Telegram alert
If you use Telegram, you can receive alerts as direct messages to your account — even when the browser is completely closed and your phone is locked.
To set it up: find your Telegram Chat ID by messaging @userinfobot on Telegram (it replies instantly with your numeric ID), enter that number in the Telegram Chat ID field on GoldAlert's notification section, and subscribe. That's it — no bot token, no extra apps.
Option 4: Simple price target alert
Below the subscription form there's also a "Set a price target alert" section. Pick an asset, choose whether you want to be alerted when it goes above or below a price you set, and add it. This fires as a browser notification when the condition is met — useful if you have a specific level in mind rather than wanting to watch for a streak pattern.
A note on what these alerts are
Every alert here is based on a rule — consecutive red closes, or a price crossing a level you chose. None of this constitutes investment advice, a recommendation to buy, or a guarantee that a pullback will reverse. The alert is a prompt to look closer, not an instruction to act.
